Burton Cotton Gin Festival

Come celebrate this annual event and honor a big part of Burton history, the 1914 Burton Farmers Gin with the Burton Cotton Gin Festival.  It kicks off with a 10am parade through downtown and is followed by a day full of entertainment, vendors, tractor pull, classic cars, and the of course, tours of the cotton gin and the ginning of authentic cotton bales beginning at 3pm.  For more info, www.cottonginmuseum.org.

Burton Blues & BBQ Cruisin' Carshow

Come for the 2nd annual Burton Blues & BBQ Cruisin' Carshow sponsored by the Burton Roadhouse at 518 N. Railroad Street.  The fun starts at 3pm and will include live music and awesome classic cars.  Awards ceremony at 5:30pm. Membership Mixer and Picnic

Hey all!  Please come join us for a membership mixer and picnic at the Depot on Sunday, May 21 from 4 to 6pm.  We will have fried chicken, potato salad and tea/water.  It would be great if you could bring a snack and/or dessert to share!  So come and bring your friends so that we can kick off our membership year with lots of friends to help us preserve this community's history!

Mt Zion Tombstone Tales

Join us Sunday, October 30th from 6:30-8:30pm for a great event for the whole family!  Come experience the history of the famous and the infamous who are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Fun will include guided cemetery walks, kids activities, snacks and more! Adults $5, kids free. All proceeds benefit the Mt. Zion Historic Chapel restoration by the Burton Heritage Society. The Cemetery is located at the corner of FM 1948 and State Hwy 390. Kids of all ages encouraged to wear costumes.
